PAULYNE L. “POLLY” GALLAGHER PRESQUE ISLE & FORT FAIRFIELD Presque Isle & Fort Fairfield – Paulyne L. “Polly” Gallagher, 86, wife of the late Ralph D. Gallagher, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday evening, November 23, 2021 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, joining her late husband under a beautiful rainbow. She was born March 22, 1935 in Presque Isle, the daughter of Paul J.B. and Genevieve (Cyr) Morin. Paulyne was a graduate of the Presque Isle High School, Class of 1953 and went on to further her education at Mass General Hospital, Boston, earning a degree as a Radiology Tech, and enjoyed a long career at both A. R. Gould and the Fort Fairfield Community General Hospitals, retiring in 2006. She was married to Ralph D. Gallagher on February 15, 1975 and attended both, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. Paulyne greatly enjoyed celebrating events with her family, and her grandchildren were her world. She was loved by so many people in the Fort Fairfield and Presque Isle communities and cherished her many friendships that she made through her many years working as a radiology tech. In addition to her parents, Paulyne was predeceased by her husband Ralph on June 9, 2008; a brother-in-law, Wayne Knight; and a special niece, Karen Knight Westphal. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Craig Walton of Presque Isle; one sister, Jane Knight of Freeport; ten grandchildren, Brody W. Gallagher, Zander D. Walton, Akasha M. Walton, Nyzaiah J. R. Walton, Aurora P. Walton, Andromeda L. Walton, Astraea N. Walton, Rigel D. C. Walton, Alectrona B. Walton, and Phoenix M. Walton, all of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews including special nieces, Kelley Knight Christie of St. Johns, FL, Karla Knight Hannelius of Los Angeles, CA, Kathy Knight of Yarmouth. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in the spring at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle with burial to follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Presque Isle.
