Carl Richard Earnest

Carl R (Dick) Earnest 93, of Little Rock Camp passed at 9:50 pm on November 25, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family. He was the Husband of 62 years to the late Ina Mae Powers Earnest. He was born in Upshur County on July 9, 1928 and was the last surviving son of John Haggert Earnest and Marcey Pearl Shawhan Earnest. Dick is survived by his six Children , Sharon Cain, Carla Earnest, Donna (Jim) Dennison, Richard (Penny) Earnest, Leroy (Annie) Earnest and Paul (Tina) Earnest; 14 grandchildren, Jacqueline (Tommy) Fornash, Bobby (Marci) Earnest, Marcey (Zach) Forquer, Jonathan Earnest and Companion Laycie, Shane Earnest and companion Patience, Jay Godfrey and companion Kayla, Timmy (Arie) Dennison, Harley Earnest and Companion Michael, Joey Earnest and Companion Hailey, Michael Earnest, Irissa Earnest, Torie Earnest, Jadeyn Earnest, Tymber Earnest, along with 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great -great -grandchildren; sisters-in-law Marlene Earnest, Sandra (Bobby) Jenkins and Kathy (Buck) Miller; brother- in- law Bill Showen. Dick is preceded in death by 1 granddaughter Sherena Cain Millsap; 1 son- in- Law Steve Cain; brothers and sisters June (Harry) Floyd, Molly (Bernard) Harper, Jack (June) Earnest, Harold (Betty) Earnest, Tom (Bertha) Earnest, George (Janie) Earnest, John Earnest, Phyllis (John) McCarty; brother and sister -in -laws Lloyd Powers, Virginia (Sherman) Kesling, Clifford and Jeannie Powers, Charlie Powers, Nevie (Johnboy) Davis, Barbara Showen. Dick was a coal miner for many different companies. He was also an electrician and maintenance boss for many years with Repair King and retired at the age of 75. The family would like to extend a special thanks to WVU Hospice Nurse Tessa Yost and special friend and P.A. Raetta Wentz. Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 3-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10:30 am with Pastor Tim Sandy officiating.
