Joan M. Nolin 

PEMBROKE, NH - Joan M. Nolin, 89, of Pembroke passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 after a short period of declining health.

Joan was born on January 16, 1932 in Concord, NH, daughter of the late Leo and Thelma (Goss) McAllister.  She was a graduate of St. John’s High School, Class of 1949.  She received her nursing degree from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Manchester in 1952.  Joan then proudly served as a U.S. Navy Nurse from 1953 to 1955 and went on to work at the Concord Hospital as a registered nurse in the maternity ward for over 40 years. She loved nursing and meeting all of the moms and new babies that she helped to deliver.  Her nursing coworkers were like family to her.

Joan was a long-time parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Concord.

Special to Joan was her home, her many dogs throughout the years, spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially at the family camps on Lower Suncook Lake and Lake Aziscohos.  Joan loved to read and tend to her flower gardens.  She loved all the animals and the animals loved her.  Christmas was her favorite holiday.  

Joan is survived by her daughters Cheryl N. Brown and her husband Charles of Pembroke, Kimberly Nolin Smith and her husband Stephen of Pembroke, Jamie Nolin and her significant other Keith Guptill of Northwood; and her son Armand Nolin and his wife Vikki of Barnstead.  She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Jodi and husband Matthew, Kelly and husband Jason, Armand, Samantha and husband Samuel, Joseph, and her great grandchildren Haley, Ali, Colby, Matty, Joshua and Alex.

Joan also leaves a brother Leo McAllister, nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by her sister Sally Colburn. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, in Concord on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10AM. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers Joan would like donations to be made to Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord, Merrimack County.
