James (Jim) Litchford Obituary

James D Litchford, Sr. age 78 of Eagletown peacefully passed away in Tulsa, OK on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Jim was born on October 24, 1943, in Eagletown, OK to the late Jesse James (Mack) and Prudence (Davis) Litchford.

Jim was a 1961 graduate of Eagletown High School. After graduating he joined the Navy. In 1963 he began his family with Harwanna Wylie with the birth of their daughter, Faith. In July of 1967 they had their first son, Donny Litchford and a year later James Litchford was born in July.

Jim began teaching Vo-Ag at Eagletown school in 1972 and retired July 1994. Jim served as the score board operator at all the basketball games. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his buddies, riding from California to Florida. He enjoyed going on hunting trips with his friends and working shut down jobs in Colorado. He loved being with family which included extending that family to his students, faculty, and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by parents, Jesse (Mack) and Prudence Litchford; son, Donny Mack Litchford; brothers, Raymond Litchford, Jesse Litchford, Ralph Bassham, Archie Bassham and Forney Bassham; sisters, Floy Green, Alice Covington, Georgia Powers, Lavada Wafford, Anna Mae Haltom, Margie Horvath and Josephine Litchford.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Faith Bewley (Willie) of Tulsa, OK, son, James Litchford (Casey) of Gillham, AR; sisters, Janice Leonard and Drucilla Taylor (Duane) all of Eagletown; grandchildren, Amber Box (Ryan), Andrew O’Bannon (Cindy), Kyle Bewley (Crystal), Dylan Bewley (Michelle), Jerha Crawford (Cody), Wylie Litchford (Taylor), Cari Meddock (Colton), Kelly Litchford (Carmen) Sara Litchford, Stephen Mack Litchford, Justin Vaughn (Jessica), Nicole Reed and Jackson Russell; twenty-two great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family and lifelong friends.

A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Eagletown School Gymnasium with Bro. Bob Stuart officiating. Interment to follow at Eagletown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dan Laster, Dan Malone, Bruce Hopson, Kenny Joiner, Paul Polk, Bugs Bray Larry Sergent Sr. and Ronald Haltom. Honorary pallbearers, Paul Leonard, Jack Brock and James Hopson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.
