Janice Sue (Stafford) Francis, 75-year-old Vinita resident, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born on October 5, 1946, in Fairland to James Harold Stafford and Irene E. (Houk) Stafford. Janice was a graduate of Bluejacket Schools. She worked for the Dana Weatherhead Corporation in Vinita for nearly 20 years. Janice was married to Sonny Francis. She enjoyed working on the Rafter J Ranch with Sonny, an excellent cook, she fed all the cowboys during round-up. Janice also enjoyed traveling and vacationing with Sonny, her garden, and flowers, feeding the hummingbirds, being outdoors, visiting with her many friends and neighbors. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, James E. Stafford in 2014, Larry Stafford in 2009, and Lawrence Lee Stafford in 1959. The family includes, her husband Sonny of the home, her son’s, David Price and wife Crystal of Claremore, Doug Price and wife Michele of Vinita, stepson’s, Todd Francis and wife Christy of Vinita, Trampas Francis and wife Hedy of Centralia, sister, Marilyn Whitfield of Vinita, brother, Darrel Stafford of Bluejacket, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita. The celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel, with Pastor Allen Dunn officiating.
