Eleanor Louise Ralston

Eleanor Louise Ralston, 88 of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at home with her family by her side. Born on February 28, 1933, in Wellsburg, WV a daughter of the late Harry M. and Mary Elizabeth (Bennett) Lazear. In addition to her parents, Eleanor is preceded in death by her son, Mark Lucas in 1996, and four brothers, Harry, Tom, twin brother, Frank, and Robert Lazear. In 1951 Eleanor, graduated from Wellsburg High School and went on to work for 21 years at Genpack Corporation in quality control and later for many years as a custodian at Brooke County Schools. Eleanor was a member of the Wellsburg Christian Church her entire life. In her spare time she loved watching her Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and the West Virginia Mountaineers. On July 17, 1990, she married the love of her life, John Russell Ralston. She also leaves behind two children, John Lucas of Weirton, WV and Sally Villagomez of Follansbee, WV; four grandchildren, J.R. Lucas, Leslie Lucas, Ryan Lucas, and Mitchell Lucas, three great grandchildren, Wyatt, Chase, and Lucille, her sister-in-law, Sheila Lazear; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Lucas; along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 28th from 2-6 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV where funeral services will be held on Monday, November 29th at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Brooke Cemetery in Wellsburg, WV. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Brooke County Animal Shelter at 798 Mac Barnes Dr. Wellsburg, WV 26070. Eleanor’s family would like to give a special thank you to the Weirton Home Health and Amedysis Hospice for all the great care Eleanor received.
