David Ross McGinnis, age 72, gained his heavenly wings on Monday, November
22, 2021, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV, after a hard-fought
battle with an extended illness. David was born on March 14, 1949, at his family home
in Horse Creek, WV. He was preceded in death by his father, Ross McGinnis.

David is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dreama Gail (Picklesimer)
McGinnis, of Beckley, WV as well as his mother, Betty McGinnis of Stickney, WV, and
children, David Scott McGinnis and wife Michelle of Ewa Beach, HI, and Sheree Lynn
(McGinnis) Henderson and partner, Timothy Reynolds, of Beaver, WV. Also left to
remember David are his brother, Danny McGinnis and wife, Debbie, of Whitesville, WV;
sister, Gloria Williams, and husband David, of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren Britt
McGinnis, Bryce McGinnis, Colton Henderson, Luke Reynolds, Latasha White,
Cheyenna Henderson and Leah Meyers, as well as his two nieces, a nephew and their
families and a host of friends.

David was a 1966 graduate of Marsh Fork High School in Naoma, WV, and
attended WV Tech for two years, then lived in Cleveland, OH, before returning home to
work in the coal mines at Montcoal, WV. David did various jobs while working in the
mines, including underground work, driving a Euclid dump truck, dropping cars at the
coal tipple and working at the water plant before he became disabled. In his younger
years, David loved hot rod Chevy cars, cats and watching Nascar cheering for his
favorite driver, #3 Dale Earnhardt. In his later years, David battled a host of medical
problems but still enjoyed riding his bike, watching Gunsmoke, petting his cats and
eating strawberry sundaes. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be at Melton Mortuary in Beckley, WV, on Monday, November 29,
2021, with viewing from 11am-1pm.

The funeral service will be at Melton Mortuary at
1:00pm, following the viewing, with burial service immediately following at Blue Ridge
Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV.
