David A. Rattray

<p>David A. Rattray, age 50, of Hanna, IN passed away Monday, November 22, 2021.&nbsp; He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Brittany (Zachary) Gifford, Austin, Samantha and Savanna Rattray; grandchildren, Skye, Cora and Kash Gifford; grandmother, Edna Rattray; parents, John Jr. and Jessie Rattray and Brenda (Mike) Dailey; sisters, Michell (Robert) Elizondo and Angela (Chris) Detweiler; brothers, John (Lynn) Rattray III, Ronnie (Laura) Mazac, Cody Dailey: many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his dog &ldquo;Bella&rdquo;.</p> <p>David worked for Cleveland-Cliffs (formerly ArcelorMittal) for the past 7 years, where he and his co-workers shared a bond of brotherhood.&nbsp; David served in the U.S. Navy right out of high school.&nbsp; He also served in the Army National Guard out of South Bend, IN, 151st Infantry Unit and was deployed to Afghanistan from 2004-2005. He was an excellent carpenter and could build just about anything.&nbsp; Earlier this year, David was baptized and became a member of Ross Community Reformed Church.&nbsp; Some of David&rsquo;s favorite hobbies were shooting pool, bowling, fishing&nbsp;and cheering on the Cubbies and Bears.&nbsp; In recent years, he enjoyed spending time at his camper where he created wonderful memories with family and friends.&nbsp; David lived life to the fullest and was always the life of the party.&nbsp; He will be missed by the many people he touched throughout his life.</p> <p>Visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN 46322 on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.&nbsp; Funeral Services will be held at Hillside Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Center on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Archer officiating followed by a procession to Memory Lane Memorial Park in Crown Point, IN.</p> <p><strong>Memorial donations preferred toward the family.</strong></p> <p>For additional information, please contact Hillside Funeral Home and Cremation Center Konnie Kuiper-Kevin Nordykey-Michael Kuiper-Vass&nbsp;at 219-838-0800 or by visiting www.hillsidefhcares.com</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
