Henry Leon Johnson Obituary

Henry Leon Johnson, age 92, entered Heaven on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at OU Medical Trauma Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Leon was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on June 4, 1929. Leon grew up in Stafford, Oklahoma and graduated from Stafford High School. After graduation, he began farming in Stafford before entering the United States Army. Leon enjoyed his time in the service and had many great stories and memories of serving his country. On December 12, 1959, he married the love of his life, Doris. Together, they farmed wheat, cotton, alfalfa and raised cattle. He and Doris made a great team working side by side in everything they did. They set a shining example of what a Godly marriage looks like. For this, their children are eternally grateful. Leon taught his children many lessons of life in the way he lived, worked hard, and set his priorities. He taught the value of life and the love of God. There were not many Sunday meetings that were missed and work was stopped on that day. Leon served in the church in many capacities. He taught Sunday School, was church treasurer, served on many committees, and was a deacon. In 2019, Leon was named Deacon Emeritus at First Baptist Church, Clinton. He loved his family and was a wonderful provider and a very wise man. His family will miss his quiet strength that he gave to each of us. Leon is preceded in death by his wife, Doris, parents, A.C.”Arthur” and Lena Johnson and brother, A.J. Johnson. Leon is survived by two daughters, Barbara Marlett and husband Don of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and Regina Grimmett and husband Randy of Clinton, one brother, Clarence Johnson of Clinton, 4 grandchildren, Erin Lonsdale and husband Tyler of Brock, Texas, Austin Marlett of Yukon, OK., Claire Bloom of Oklahoma City, OK and James Bloom of Tulsa, OK.
