Gussie Louise Reaves was born to the late John Thomas Barber and Maynard Lee on June 13, 1954 in Grand Junction, TN. Louise was the youngest of five children.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday December 4, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Greater Springfield MB Church  with Pastor Robert Parham in charge.  Burial was in the Mt. Zion  Cemetery-Saulsbury and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Gussie graduated from Middleton High School in 1972 and then attended West TN Business College. She also obtained a diploma from Whiteville VoTech for Clerical Secretary.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age, was baptized, and united with Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Junction, TN. She loved teaching the 9-13 year old Sunday School class and singing in the Adult Choir. She later united with Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church where she loved singing in the Sr. Choir and being a member of the Women’s Mission Union.

Louise began her work career at Harman Automotive (formally known as Jervis). She faithfully worked there for twenty six years until they closed in 1999. Louise also worked at Western Mental Health and Core Civic.

On April 26, 1980, Louise was married to Billy Reaves, and to this union, two sons (Brandon and Keenan) were born.

Louise departed this life on November 25, 2021 at home with her loved ones in Bolivar, TN. She was preceded in death by her brother: Johnny James Barber.
Louise leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Billy Reaves; two sons, Brandon Reaves of Elkmont, AL. and Keenan Reaves of Bolivar, TN; three grandsons, Xavier and Kaleb Reaves of Augusta, GA and Brenten Lake of Bolivar, TN; three sisters, Peggie (Henry LaVon) Gurley of North Pole, Alaska, Alice Barber Gardner of Grand Junction, TN and Carolyn (Robert) Whitmore of Bolivar, TN; one brother, Donnie Barber of Grand Junction, TN; three brothers-in-law, William (Lana) Reaves, James (Pam) Reaves, and Ray (LaVeta) Reaves; six sisters-in-law, Josephine Perry, Mae Toy (Charlie) Jones, Gwendolyn (JT) Hamer, Jerry Mason, Pastor Pauline (Michael) Ezell, and Patricia Gibson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
