Stanley Carl Forbes, 63, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at his home in Burlison, Tennessee. There will be a Memorial service Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Elm Grove United Methodist Church, in Burlison, Tennessee, at 2:00 P.M.

Stanley was an avid baseball player, he pitched for the Memphis White Sox a 60 and older team. He coached baseball while his children were growing up, and he also enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and cooking. He was a retired automotive service manager.

Stanley was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Solomon Harris Forbes and Mrs. Winnie Dickerson Forbes, Mr. Billy Atkins, and Mrs. Georgia Brown Atkins, his father, Mr. Jack Dickerson Forbes, brother, Tim Forbes, son Matthew Forbes and stepsister Terri Chumley and husband Jimmy.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Jane Brown Forbes Rice, wife Melanie Forbes, sons; Brandon Forbes, Arin Forbes, Kile Allen, and Nicholas Forbes, grandchildren, Lydia and Jace Forbes, and Kingston and Kaleb Allen, brother, Dennis Jack Forbes and wife Melissa, stepbrothers, Dewey Rice Jr. and wife Jill and Johnny Rice and Tammie, stepsisters, Gail Kellum and husband Stonie and Debbie Middleton and husband Billy, and sister-in-law, Jeannie Forbes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or St. Jude.
