Mary Carolyn Straight, age 87, of Sidney, NE and formerly of Cherokee Village, AR passed away in Sidney on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Interment will be held at Elk Cemetery in Decatur County, Iowa. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Mary’s care and funeral arrangements. Mary C. Straight was born on February 21st, 1934 in Bellingham WA to parents Earl & Helen Bellingar. The family later moved to West Seattle, where Mary attended West Seattle High School and after graduation, she attended Seattle University. Mary had the privilege to travel and live in many world-wide locations, including Midway Island, Guam and England. In May of 1996, Mary married Monte Straight and they lived in Ashland, NE. In 1998 they moved to Cherokee Village, AR. After Monte passed in 2018, Mary moved to Sidney, NE to be with family. Mary was an avid collector of English antiques and was known by her friends and family as a "cat lady". She loved her cats and they loved her. She also dearly loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Mary also enjoyed attending church and spending time with her friends. She was generous and bright and had a wonderful sense of humor. Mary planted many seeds of light and grace in those she knew and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son Mark Goll and his wife Tiann; her 7 grandchildren: Jesse Goll, Tyler Goll, Meagan Yost, Caleb Goll, Sharaiah Goll, Micah Goll & Collin Goll; her great-grandchildren: Natalie, Aidyn, Romi, Matthew, Amore, Havana, Moira, Serenity, Malcolm, Alexandria, Victoria, Cameron and by her sister Judy Wheeler. She is preceded in death by her husband Monte Straight, parents Earl & Helen Bellingar, sister Linda Gifford and great-grandson Beckett.
