Dorothy Lee Harris

<p>Dorothy Lee Harris, 95 passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at St. Elizabeth Hospice on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Born in Verona, KY, she was the daughter of the late Pascal and Lula Sturgeon Plunkett on September 30, 1926. Dorothy was a homemaker for many years and also worked in the school cafeteria at Twenhofel Middle School. She was a member at Hickory Grove Baptist Church where she proudly served the Lord. Dorothy loved line dancing, singing karaoke and attending music shows at the Red Barn when she had the time. She enjoyed working in her yard, but most of all, spending time with her wonderful children and grandchildren. Dorothy was a sweet lady with a little bit of spunk, who was loved by many and will truly be missed.</p><p><br></p><p> Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents; Her loving husband of 55 years, William A. Harris; one son, Jerry Harris; two sisters, Ruby Underwood and Bernie Pappas. Those left here to carry on Dorothy’s legacy include her children, Patricia (Ken) Bach, Judy (David) Dominic, Cindy Harris, and Larry (Gwen) Harris; one sister, Joyce Beeson; nine grandchildren, Butch Streine, Diane (Charlie) Wilson, Shane Streine, Steve (Missy) Harris, Thana (Jeff) Johnson, Christy (Ryan) Stark, Brandon Harris, Benjamin (Theresa) Harris, Brian (Kayla) Harris. Thirty-seven great-grandchildren; as well as many close relatives and friends.</p><p><br></p><p> A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11969 Taylor Mill Rd, Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd, Covington, KY 41015. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Dorothy’s name to Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11969 Taylor Mill Rd, Independence, KY 41051 or Fairhaven Rescue Home, 260 W Pike St, Covington, KY 41011.
