Sharon McKee Ducre Rider fell asleep in death at Baton Rouge General Hospital on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the age of 65. She was born on January 9, 1956 with her twin sister, Sheila McKee Honore, to the late Wilfred Joseph McKee and Dorothy Mae Young McKee in New Orleans, LA. Beloved wife of Lawrence Rider. Mrs. Rider attended Carter G. Woodson Junior High School and went on to acquire her GED at Rabouin. She continued her education by attending Delgado Community College to major in Early Childhood Education. Sharon began serving as a Jehovah's Witness at the age of 36 and continued that path of faith for many years. She cared for and raised several family's children for over 20 years and was currently employed by Dr. and Mrs. Wahid for several years, assisting them in raising their daughter, Farzeen, who she cared for deeply. Sharon was married to the late Jerome Jude Ducre, Sr. and to this union, she became the mother of Jerome Jude Ducre, Jr., Ashley Dowell and the late Sharome Ducre. She also became the mother of two sons, Larry and Tony Ducre with the late Harry Earl. In addition to her parents and daughter, Mrs. Rider is also preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Faye McKee Brown and Pamela Ann McKee Newman; Grandparents, Mabel Beech Pearson, Henrietta Washington McKee, Raymond Young and Lindsey Pearson. In addition to her sons and daughter, She also leaves to cherish her memory, twin sister, Sheila McKee (Albert Ovide) Honore; brother, Wilfred McKee; stepchildren, Lawrence Rider, Jr. and Rose Rider; two daughters in law, Rhonda (Larry) Ducre, Taeneia Ducre(Tony) and Terry (Fiance of Jerome, Jr.); one brother in law, Roger Rider (Rose); two sisters in law, Louise Bess (Clinton), Doretha Thomas; nineteen grandchildren, three great- grandchildren; one Godchild, Wilfred Joseph McKee, Jr; one uncle, Irving Jones; one aunt, Dontreal Young; best friend, Vivian Deverney; the mother of her Godchild, Sandy Marie Duckworth and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. A funeral service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Sharon McKee Ducre Rider will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 0n Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 1 PM. Interment Private. Visitation 12 noon in the chapel.
