Phyllis M Devlin Obituary

Phyllis Marjorie (Wetzel) Devlin of Holbrook, Massachusetts passed away on November 23, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Boston, Phyllis grew up in Braintree, a 1972 graduate of Braintree High School. Phyllis is predeceased by her parents Phyllis ( Carson) and Edwin Wetzel, and her beloved younger sister Barbara Eveline. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family. Phyllis is survived by her siblings Korena Hooper and her husband Willie of Sydney, Nova Scotia, Marty Wetzel and his wife Elaine of Braintree, MA and Peggy Clough and her husband Jack of Whitman, MA. Phyllis always loved and cared for her nieces and nephews, who all have fond memories of her. She took her role as Auntie seriously, supporting and encouraging all of them to follow their dreams. Mike (Aimee), Tom (Kelly) & Steven (Siobhan) Wetzel, Jackie (Jesse) Wetzel, Hershey and Heather Clough, Eric Clough & Nicole Clough (and longtime boyfriend Josh Dorris) and Daniel Eveline ( and fiancé Lacy Brantley) along with many great nieces and great nephews.

Phyliss worked for over 25 years at Braintree Hospital / Braintree Rehab in multiple different departments. She was always willing to learn something new. Also, to pass on that knowledge to others. Phyllis was beloved by many of her former coworkers, and she reminisced often about good, and often funny, times they shared together. Phyllis loved rock music and loved it loud while driving. One of her favorite memories was attending a Daughtry concert with Peggy and her nephew Eric. She lived in flip flops whenever possible, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the beach or by the pool. Despite her dislike of the cold, and the frequency of large snowstorms falling on her birthday. Phyllis loved collecting snowman, mittens. Her niece Nicole’s cat decided that Phyllis was her person and is likely curled up in one of her fleece jackets.
