Gilles Lafrenière Sudbury, Ontario Obituary

Gilles Lafrenière

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear brother and uncle Gilles Lafrenière on November 23, 2021 at the age of 73 years. Predeceased by his parents Francis Lafrenière and Simone (née Arbour) as well as by his brother Lionel “Pit” Lafrenière (Suzanne). Much loved and loving to his siblings Paulette (Claude), Raymond (Paulette), Denis (Gaetanne), Nicole (Andy), Jacques (Monique), Pierette, Luc (Doris), and Serge (Andrée). Gilles will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews who were close to him. They were his pride and joy. He will be remembered by them for his playful and teasing personality. Gilles enjoyed traveling, skiing, and fishing with friends and family. He was a proud Richelieu for many years. He loved being surrounded by family, friends and was always the life of the party. He was generous, kind and had the best sense of humor. Your life was made richer for having known him. The family would like to thank the amazing staff of HSN 5 South (Stroke Unit). Gilles was treated with care, compassion, and dignity throughout his short stay. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Friday, November 26, 2021, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday November 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, Sudbury. Due to the current pandemic, social distancing and masks are mandatory. In lieu of flowers donations to Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin would be appreciated. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
