Services for Velma Crooks will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Dobie Perkins and Reverend Adam Basco officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, Effie The family requests visitation be held Friday, November 26, 2021 at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Russell Watson, Vince Crooks, Bryan Crooks, Ashton Creamer, Johnathon Perkins, Avery Hayes, and Trent Luneau. Honorary pallbearers, Damon Crooks, Kevin Crooks, Jeff Perkins, George Lamartiniere, and Todd Luneau. Mrs. Crooks, 94, of Effie passed from this life, Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Oak Haven Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E. Crooks; son, Lloyd Ray Crooks parents, Rev. David W. “Buzzy” and Evie Ryland Reynolds; siblings, D. W. Reynolds, Jr., Walter Leo Reynolds, Aubon Reynolds, Gladys Atkinson, Elaine Dunlap, Inez Champagne, Vertie Stagg, Mellie Tenney, Irene Scroggs, Lola Hein, Lela Scroggs and a set of infant twins. Those left to cherish her memory include son, James Crooks and wife JoAnne; daughter-in-law, Reba Crooks; grandchildren, Damon Ray Crooks, Kevin Randall Crooks and wife, Laurie, Vincent Bryan Crooks and wife, Allison and Melissa Crooks Watson and husband, Russell and 11great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
