Earl L. Campbell Obituary

Earl Campbell, 91, of Findlay, passed into the loving arms of Jesus, on Wednesday morning, November 24, 2021, at home. He was born on the farm on May 13, 1930, in Wabash County, IN to the late Albert and Clara (Whitcraft) Campbell. He married his high-school sweetheart Ada Clark on June 22, 1952 and they enjoyed 69 years living, working, and traveling together. Ada survives. Earl is also survived by his twin daughters: Jane King of Kokomo, IN and June (Mark) Sutherin of Mt. Victory, OH; sons: Ross (Dan Burns) Campbell of Chicago, IL and Dow (Susan) Campbell of Findlay; 11 grandchildren: Matt (Amanda) Sutherin, Summer (Matt) Ehresman, Christine Mendenhall, April (Rick) Kivett, Drew Sutherin, Jon (Brooke) Sutherin, Colin (Kelsey) Campbell, Duncan (Matti) Campbell, Kieran (Olivia Crawford) Campbell, Peter Campbell, and Grace (Greg) Vanderheiden; and 21 great-grandchildren: Caleb, Israel, Campbell, Lydia, Zander, Kinsley, Savannah, Jackson, Ada, Ian, Calise, Jonah, Adeline, Huxley, Quinn, Joshua, Eastyn, Sawyer, Everett, Finley, and Rosie. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mike King; brothers: Lloyd, Harper, Dan, and Bert, Jr.; and sisters: Helen, Myrtle, Ethel, Sally, Irene, and Doris. Earl graduated from Purdue University in 1952 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. Earl and Ada owned Camel Farm Service in Dunkirk and Edon for 20 years. Earl was the former President of the Ohio Grain and Feed Association and active in many professional and service organizations. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served our country during the Korean Conflict in the US and Canada. He was a 50-year member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Findlay and was active on many church committees. He volunteered for many local charities and organizations. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 29, 2021, at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Findlay where visitation will be held 2 hours (11:00am-1:00pm) prior to the service (please use the Crawford Street entrance). Pastor Cathy Davis will be officiating. Earl’s family is thankful for so many who cared for him throughout the years; especially Dr. Cosiano, Dr. Gerschutz, Blanchard Valley Hospital, Bridge Hospice, and their staffs. Arrangements are being handled by COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christian Clearing House and/or St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church.
