Richard Arlan Derby, Jr. Obituary

Born January 12, 1964 in Lawton, Oklahoma to army veteran Richard (Dick) and Jerry Derby. Rick followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the army after graduating from Seaside High School in 1993. Rick was a hard worker and loved helping everyone from doing landscaping for many years and then doing maintenance for many years. Rick never failed to lend a hand and spent a lot of his free time coaching and umpiring sporting games for Seaside Kids Inc. It was one of his favorite things to do and he was very proud of his involvement with the young boys teaching them the technical aspect of baseball and football. Rick is survived by his brother Bryan Derby and his three sons Tyler, Drew, and Jacob Derby. Sister, Kristi (Nate) Lee and her three children George White, Alexa and Derek Lee. Rick loved being an uncle and provided a mitt or bat to each child. He would play outside with them, teach them to ride bikes and spoil them rotten! Rick was predeceased in death by his father Dick (Richard) Derby, mother Jerry (Jeralyd-Dean) Derby. Grandparents Maurice and Willowmae Bryan and Donald and Barbara Derby. A celebration of life will be held in Spring or Summer of 2022.
