Carolyn J. Kullberg

KULLBERG, Carolyn J. (Andruchow), 68, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center of RI in Coventry. She was the beloved wife of 44 years to Glenn L. Kullberg. Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Gregory G. Kullberg of Plymouth, MA and Jamie L. McElaney and her husband Daniel of Walpole, MA; four grandchildren, Graham and Theodore Kullberg, and Morgan and Reese McElaney; two brothers Stephen (Patricia) and James (Margaret) Andruchow, of West Warwick, and ten nieces and nephews. Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Amy (Turner) Andruchow, and was a lifelong resident of West Warwick. Carolyn graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and completed several post-graduate courses. Carolyn had a passion for teaching. She taught 1st and 2nd grade for the West Warwick School Department for 28 years and was awarded educator of the year on one occasion. Carolyn was also passionate about giving back to her community and volunteered for the West Warwick Lions Club for several years, where she was elected as the first female president. Through the years, Carolyn also served on the Board of the West Warwick Public Library, organized the annual Blood Drive at Greenbush Elementary School, and volunteered at Kent Hospital. During her retirement, Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren, traveling with her “Sisters”, or on the golf course with the “Divot Divas”. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00am in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 99 Peirce St., East Greenwich, RI. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00pm-5:00pm in the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. Masks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Warwick Teachers’ Alliance Scholarship & Charitable Fund, PO Box 462, West Warwick, RI 02893 or the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund would be greatly appreciated.
