Ronald Herbert Rohloff Schenectady, New York Obituary

Ronald Herbert Rohloff

Surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, Ronald H. Rohloff now rests in eternal peace after passing away at Ellis Hospital on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at age 78. Ron was a kind-hearted, generous, straight-forward kind of guy who could always be counted on to share his honest opinion. He took great pride in seeing the values that he instilled in his children lived out and seeing his daughters' hopes and dreams come to fruition. Ron enjoyed his devoted wife's cooking and eating out at his favorite restaurants with her, but a thin and crispy pizza topped with sausage and mushrooms was always his most requested meal. During healthier times, Ron enjoyed nothing more than making memories with his family. Holding gatherings in his backyard where he loved to garden, bird-watch, and play with his dogs, playing cards and games, taking family trips or going on local outings, and cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events, concerts, and other activities were Ron's favorite ways to spend his time. Ron's years boating on Lake George with friends and relatives were some of the best days of his life. The passion that Ron had for music leaves everyone who knew him with a song in their heart that reminds them of him. While Ron was a man of few words, he always let his family know that they were loved "too-too much, forever and ever". Ronald is predeceased by his parents Herbert and Evelyn Rohloff and his brother Terry Rohloff. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Tamara Jean (DeZalia) Rohloff along with his three daughters Darcy Fayre Owens and her husband Scott of Bealeton, VA, Jennifer Evelyn Lewis and her husband Chuck of Ballston Spa, NY, and Jessica Anna Cancelliere and her husband John of Pattersonville, NY. Ronald's six grandchildren include Shawn and Cody Owens, August and Samuel Lewis, and Jackson and Harper Cancelliere. Surviving family members also include Ronald's sister in-law, Andrea Rohloff, his nephews Michael and Jason Rohloff, and several cousins. A celebration of Ronald's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to either St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
