James C. Eberly Obituary

DALLASTOWN – James C. “Jim” Eberly, 54, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Portsmouth, VA. He was the husband of Tammy L. (Weyant) Eberly to whom he was married for four years and shared his life with for the past 9 ½ years. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Viewings will be held from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM Friday and 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Born August 18, 1967 in York, a son of the late Max and Debra (Grove) Eberly; he was a 1987 graduate of Dallastown Area High School where he was on the football and wrestling teams. Jim was a Field Supervisor with his family business, Yoe Construction. He was a life member of Yoe Fire Company where he was very active. Jim joined Yoe Fire Co. in 1981 at age 14 and held every officer position including Fire Chief. In addition to his active service; he served as an instructor, helped with all of their fundraisers and events and also received numerous awards. Jim also was an avid hunter and loved spending time in the woods with his daughter and son. In addition to his wife, Mr. Eberly is survived by a daughter, Mickayla G. Eberly and fiancé Andrew J. Stern of Red Lion; a son, Cody J. Eberly of Dallastown; two stepsons, Tyler A. Forry of Red Lion and Travis J. Forry of Yoe; two granddaughters, Harper Eberly and Miah Forry; a brother, Max “Butch” and wife Patricia Eberly of Seven Valleys; two sisters, Dottie and husband Troy Almoney of Brogue and Linda and husband Leroy Bowles of Red Lion; nieces, Cortney Bowles-Leber and husband Lonnie Leber and their family, Stacey and husband Todd Smyth and their family; nephews, Jed and wife Ashley Eberly, Jared Eberly and partner Kelly Lau and their family, Christopher and wife Ashlee Batty, and Tyler and wife Tiffany Bowles and their family.
