Stanley Evers Bowman, Jr.

Stanley E. “Reds” “Dutes” Bowman, Jr., 72, of Rouzerville, died on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital, after a brief illness. Born September 28, 1949 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Stanley E. Bowman, Sr. and Betty (Emory) Bowman. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Pat and Ethel Emory. Stanley was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Vietnam, along with the 101st Airborne Division from 1969-1971. He was a member of the Cascade American Legion Post No. 239 as well as the Emmitsburg VFW Post No. 6658. In his younger years, he enjoyed working on cars. He retired after ten years in the maintenance department at the Waynesboro Walmart. Stanley was one of the first hires when the store opened. He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Parris, whom he married 25 years ago after dating more than ten years; a son, Steven Bowman; a step son, Corey Murdorf of BRS; three sisters, Sherry Ridgeley, Tina Speelman, and Sara Martz; two brothers, Randy Bowman and Rick Speelman; a special aunt, Violet “Pete” Monninger of MD; and an honorary great-granddaughter, Kayla Fisher. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Rouzerville Ruritan Club, 11962 Old Route 16 St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
