Paul D. Baillargeon Obituary

Paul D. Baillargeon, 82, of Plymouth, beloved husband of Joan (Belanger) Baillargeon, died on Saturday (November 20, 2021) at Bristol Hospital.
Paul was born in Bristol on February 7, 1939 and was the son of the late Charles and Loretta (Doyer) Baillargeon.
He was raised in Bristol where he received his sacraments from St. Joseph Church and graduated from St. Anthony High School. He attended college at Central Connecticut State University and the University of Connecticut. He taught in North Haven before going to the Southington School System as an administrator retiring after 35 years of service to the town as principal of Thalberg Elementary School. In addition to his commitment to his family he showed a deep commitment to the children in his school, making sure to know each of their names and going out of his way to ensure each had a good day. His passion was woodworking and spent many hours in the shop at his longtime Burlington home. His woodworking legacy is the furniture he built and helping his sons build their respective homes.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, Paul is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Paul and Lynn Baillargeon of Harwinton and Marc and Tracey Baillargeon of Downingtown, PA; a brother: Charles Baillargeon III of Massachusetts; four grandchildren: Jordan, Trevor, Meghan, and Sage Baillargeon; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers: Thomas and James Baillargeon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (December 4, 2021) at 11 AM at St. Joseph Church 33 Queen St., Bristol. Entombment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will greet friends prior to the Mass between 10:30 and 11 AM directly at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306, or to Bristol Hospital Home Care and Hospice, PO Box 977, Bristol, CT 06011-0977.
