Dona M. Ryan Obituary

Dona M. Ryan, 75, of Jensen Beach, FL passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2021, at the Kindred Hospital in Riviera Beach, FL. Dona was born in Metuchen, NJ to Frederick and Rosemarie Floeck, and was the only daughter of 5 children. She earned her Master's Degree in Education from Glassboro State College and went on to become the Athletic Director of Old Bridge High School in New Jersey. Old Bridge is one of the largest schools in the state, and her influence and leadership led to many crucial developments for the student-athletes including new fields, challenging game match-ups, and getting her teams to the best tournaments. She was beloved for her tenacity in championing student-athletes, her compassion, and her pride in her programs. She was at her best on the sidelines cheering on her kids. Dona married her husband, Kenneth Ryan in 1992. They met and lived in Red Bank, NJ before eventually relocating full-time to Jensen Beach, FL. Dona loved many things including caring for her dogs, spending time with her family and friends, golf, travel, shopping, and cheering on her NFL coach son-in-law on Sundays. She was passionate about women's rights, especially through sport, and advocated for youth with tough upbringings. Dona was predeceased by her mother, Rosemarie Floeck; father, Frederick Floeck; brother, Rick Floeck all of Metuchen, NJ; mother-in-law, Henrietta Ryan, and father-in-law John "Whitey" Ryan of Manhattan, NY. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ryan of Jensen Beach, FL.; daughter, Rachel Gilbride and son-in-law Kevin M. Gilbride of Charlotte, NC.; stepdaughter, Erica Theriault and son-in-law Michael Theriault of Wolcott, CT.; stepdaughter, Melissa Boyce and son-in-law Collis Boyce of New Canaan, CT. Grandchildren: Aidan Davis, Gabriella Theriault, Avery Boyce, Catherine Boyce, and Ellie Boyce. Siblings: Eric Floeck, Brian Floeck and his wife Diane, William Floeck and his wife Lisa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 11/30/2021 from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm at All County Funeral Home, 1010 NW Federal Hwy, Stuart, FL 34994. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation https://www.komen.org/, as Dona was passionate about preventive breast cancer monitoring, or to The Farm Dog Rescue, located locally to honor her love for her pets and animals in need. https://thefarmdogrescue.com/farm/donations/
