Sharon Ann Steen age 64, of Saylorsburg passed away Monday, November 22nd at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono in East Stroudsburg. Sharon was the loving wife of David Steen. They celebrated their 17th Wedding Anniversary on July 2nd. She was born in Newton, NJ on December 11, 1956 daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Staples) Van Auken of Stroudsburg. Sharon had worked as a School Bus Driver for Knowlton Township School District in Delaware, NJ for 19 years. For the past 14 years, Sharon had worked as a part time secretary and tax collector for Ross Township. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Calypso Chapter in Bethlehem. She also attended Mt. Bethel Church in Mt. Bethel. We have been blessed with the presence of Sharon in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her husband: David, her parents: Charles and Elizabeth Van Auken of Stroudsburg, her children: Rebecca Anderson of Elizabeth, NJ, Christopher Anderson of San Diego, CA, Tricia Reed and her husband David of Bangor and James Steen and his wife Angel of North Carolina. She was the loving grandmother to her six grandchildren: Adam, John, James, Allison, Sarah and Hunter and a great granddaughter: Juliet. She is also survived by a sister: Cindy Casanova and her husband Joe of Columbia, NJ and a brother: Charles Van Auken Jr. of Stroudsburg. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband: Chuck Anderson and a grandson: David James Steen. Funeral services will begin 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 27th at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1426 Route 209, Gilbert with Pastor Dan Christensen officiating. Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences from 10 am Saturday, November 27th until time of service at the funeral home. Interment is private and at the convenience of the family.
