Danita Lynn Bell Obituary

Danita Lynn Bell Means, Altus resident, formerly of Hollis, OK, passed away on November 16, 2021 at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton, OK. She was 50 years old at the time of her death.

Danita was born to her parents, the late Murphy Means Sr. and Wanda K. (Smith) Nelson on March 20, 1971, in Hollis, Oklahoma. She grew up in Hollis and graduated high school there. While in school, Danita was active in basketball, softball, and track. Danita loved staying busy and working with her hands. She worked several jobs during her career, but was most recently employed by Bar-S Foods in Altus and the Tyson Meat Company in Vernon, TX,

Danita, affectionately known as Link, was an extremely outgoing and upbeat person. She lived her life to the fullest and tried to make sure everyone around her did too! Making others laugh and smile were just some of her many talents. Link also enjoyed cooking, playing cards and dominoes, hanging out with friends and she could always be seen wearing the latest fashion and sneakers. She was passionate about her favorite football team; If you hung around her, you'd better be a Dallas Cowboys fan!

On a deeper level, family was the most important thing in the world to Link. She was definitely the "Link" that held things together in difficult times for many of her family members, but especially for her grandchildren, to whom she devoted her life. She made sure they were loved and well taken care of, even in the worst of times. Link also spent many years with a special companion, Pamela Crowley. They had a special bond and unique history that made them simply love each other unconditionally. Danita tried her best to share that same unconditional love with all her family and loved ones. She spent a great deal of time reaching out and keeping up with everyone she could through her favorite social media outlets, facebook and instagram. Link wasn't afraid of anything or anyone and was very protective of those she cared about. Her straightforward attitude and kind spirit will be never be forgotten by any who knew her.

Danita was preceded in death by her father, Murphy Means Sr. ; a son, Javier Beel; one brother, Steve Bell; her cousins, Drane Beaver, Christopher Watson and James Watson; her aunt, Jodie Smith; and both grandmothers: Lucille Smith and Olivia Means.
