Vincenza Nancy Simonetti, 64, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at her home unexpectedly. Born in Amsterdam, New York on June 28, 1957, she was the daughter of Raffaele and the late Nicolina (Iorio) Palumbo. She was a lifelong Meriden resident and graduated from Platt High School, class of 1977. Nancy was a machine operator at Polymold for 20 years before her retirement. She was very fond of the owners, Mike, Jill, and Tasha. Nancy loved to cook her Italian meals, especially her chicken cutlets for her grandson. She loved Sunday dinners. She loved to spend time with her family and babysit her great nephews, and grandson. Nancy is survived by her loving daughter, Maria Calvert and her husband Steven, and the love of her life, her grandson, Gavin. She is also survived by her sister, Anna Maria Palumbo, her brother Raffaele Palumbo Jr., her nephew, Rinalado Izzo, her niece, Melissa Aviles and her husband Michael, and her great nephews, Matteo, and Maverick Aviles. Nancy also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers, and friends, including Amelia, Lynn, Lynnea, and Carol. She was predeceased by her sister, Esterina Izzo, and some aunts and uncles. Family and friends are invited to call at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 E.
