George Louis Lechner

<p>George Louis Lechner, Jr, 76, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. He was born October 24, 1945 in New Orleans, LA and was the son of the late George Louis Lechner, Sr. and Gloria Munster Lechner. He graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School and attended LSUNO. George moved his family from New Orleans to Biloxi in 1973 to open &ldquo;George&rsquo;s 3-ft PoBoy&rsquo;s&rdquo; just outside Keesler AFB Gate 2. When it closed in 1985, he began work as an agent for Prudential Insurance. When gaming came to the coast in 1992, he became a dealer for The Isle of Capri casino until a stroke forced his retirement in 2010. Throughout his career George was active with several local organizations. He was a charter member of the ole Biloxi Marching club, served as an adult leader with Boy Scout troop 213, served as a board member and participated in numerous Biloxi Little Theater productions, and was active in several civic organizations. He was a dedicated fan of Tulane University and Saints football. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Ginger, of 55 years. George is preceded in death by his father George Louis Lechner Sr. George is survived by his wife, Virginia &ldquo;Ginger&rdquo; McManus Lechner; mother, Gloria Munster Lechner; sisters, Kathy Lechner Wendling (Wendell), Judy Lechner Bayer (Arthur); children, George &ldquo;Chip&rdquo; Louis Lechner, III, Jonathan Lechner (Jennifer), Melissa Lechner Ransbottom (Ronnie); grandchildren, Colin Lechner, Jett Anderson, Nathan Lechner, Logan Lechner, Taylor Ransbottom, Deuce Ransbottom; great-grandchildren Ethan Lechner, Silas Lechner; brothers-in-law, Earl &ldquo;Pat&rdquo; McManus (Ana) and the late Edgar &ldquo;Mac&rdquo; McManus; and several nieces and nephews.<br /> Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN &amp; SON FUNERAL HOME 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, LA 70119 on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 9:45 AM. Inurnment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
