Crist E. Wengerd

Crist E. Wengerd 71, of 6200 S. Carr Rd, Apple Creek, passed away at his residence on Monday, November 22, 2021, after a six-month battle with cancer. Crist was born on February 28, 1950, to the late Elmer and Anna (Stutzman) Wengerd. He was the beloved husband of Edna Mae Kuhns. They were united in matrimony on April 22, 1971, and shared 50 years of marriage. He was employed at Schlabach Engine and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He is survived by his wife, Edna Mae and their four children, Dwayne (Marie) Wengerd of Fredericksburg, Christina (Dwayne) Coblentz of Lakeville, Anne (Reuben) Schlabach of the home, and Arlene (Vernon) Bontrager of Centerton, Arkansas; brothers Dan (Sandy) Wengerd of Virginia, Roman (Janie) Wengerd of Delaware, Lester (Fannie) Wengerd of Florida; sisters Mary (Eddie) Hershberger of South Carolina, Emma (John) Schlabach of Idaho, and Esther (Marvin) Yoder of Gambier, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law George and Fannie Wengerd. Funeral services will be held at Schlabach Engine Warehouse, 6150 S. Carr Rd, Apple Creek, on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. with Bishop Andy E. Troyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Schlabach Family Cemetery. Friends may call at the home for viewing after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and any time on Wednesday. A special thank you to LifeCare Hospice for their kind care during Crist’s illness.
