Alice Emily Owens
Mrs. Alice Emily Webb Owens, age 98, of Lebanon, Virginia, formerly of Swords Creek, passed away Sunday (November 21, 2021) in Lebanon, Virginia. Born October 8, 1923 in Raven, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Reese and Effie Griffith Webb. She had lived in the area most of her life and attended Raven Assembly of God when her health permitted. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Owens, one son, Harley Owens, and one daughter, Loretta Penrod. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Freda Owens; one sister, Peggy Wells of Radford; five grandchildren, Estel Owens and wife, Jennifer, C.C. Penrod, Maggie Penrod, Mark Miller, and Tim Miller; seven great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia with Rev. Steve Ray officiating.
