Michael Anthony "Mo" Morrissey

<p><strong>Michael Anthony &ldquo;Mo&rdquo; Morrissey 1947-2021&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Michael Morrissey was born in Newton, Massachusetts on September 6, 1947 to the late Joseph Morrissey and the late Anna (Joyce) Morrissey. He is survived by his siblings, Joyce (Morrissey) Beatty, Jack Morrissey, Mary (Morrissey) Grennon, Elizabeth (Morrissey) O&rsquo;Brien, Thomas Morrissey and Joanne (Morrissey) O&rsquo;Reilly. Michael graduated from Our Lady Help of Christians Elementary School, F.A. Day Jr. High, where he was awarded &lsquo;Most Funny,&rsquo; and Newton North High School. After graduating, Michael served his&nbsp;country in the United States Army and the Vietnam War. After being wounded and honorably discharged, Michael returned home to serve briefly as a Federal Police Officer. He then went on to serve as a Newton Firefighter until retirement.</strong></p> <p><strong>After his return from the war, he met his&nbsp;beloved&nbsp;wife of 47 years, Debra (Durost) Morrissey and together they have three children: daughter Fae (Morrissey) D&rsquo;Entremont and his son-in-law Joseph D&rsquo;Entremont, son Michael Corcoran Morrissey and daughter Eileen (Morrissey) Sanford and his son-in-law David Sanford. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, James Morrissey Sanford, Eva Snow Sanford, Dorien Michael D&rsquo;Entremont and Lena Noelle D&rsquo;Entremont to whom he was fiercely devoted.</strong></p> <p><strong>At the age of 8 Michael began his first career as a caddy at the Charles River Country Club which turned into a lifelong passion for golf. He later transferred to The Country Club in Brookline earning the nickname &#39;The Legend&#39;, and, though retired from active caddying Michael made guest appearances at the caddyshack through most of the 2021 season.&nbsp;He was also a political junkie who was quick to offer insight to his favorite political talk radio shows. Michael was a friend to every dog he ever met and loved spoiling his cherished Golden Retrievers. A consistent and proud patriot, Michael was a continuous learner who particularly enjoyed historical biographies.</strong></p> <p><strong>Due to medical complications following an automobile accident, Michael passed away at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH on November 17, 2021.</strong></p> <p><strong>A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, we will very much miss his loyalty, generosity and incredible sense of humor. Michael also leaves behind his many nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family members and friends whom he loved very much.</strong></p> <p><strong>A service honoring the life of Michael will be held at Eaton Funeral Home&nbsp;1351 Highland Ave Needham, MA&nbsp;on December&nbsp;1, from 5 to 7pm, all are welcome. Michael Anthony “Mo” Morrissey 1947-2021 

Michael Morrissey was born in Newton, Massachusetts on September 6, 1947 to the late Joseph Morrissey and the late Anna (Joyce) Morrissey. He is survived by his siblings, Joyce (Morrissey) Beatty, Jack Morrissey, Mary (Morrissey) Grennon, Elizabeth (Morrissey) O’Brien, Thomas Morrissey and Joanne (Morrissey) O’Reilly. After graduating, Michael served his country in the United States Army and the Vietnam War.
