William James Reynolds Obituary

William James Reynolds, 87, of Warsaw, passed away at 6:15 AM Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Keokuk Area Hospital.

William was born January 31, 1934, the son of James Perry and Mabel Esther (Washburn) Reynolds in Carthage, Illinois.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  On June 13, 1966, he was united in marriage to Alta Ward in Quincy.  She survives.  William worked for the railroad in his younger years and later for the Keokuk National Cemetery where he retired in 1997 after twenty-six years of service. 

William is survived by his wife, Alta, of Warsaw; children, William James “Bill” Reynolds, Jr. of Decatur, Illinois, Elizabeth Lowman and Grayland Bigelow, both of Keokuk, and Ernie (Beth) Bigelow of Eureka, Illinois; grandchildren, Bradley and Steven Reynold, Patricia Householder, Anthony and Tiffiny Atterberg, Samantha Robertson, Jake Bishop, Christopher, Kimberly, Lee and Brandon Bigelow and Windi Wierather; a brother, Bob (Jo Ann) Reynolds of Littleton, Colorado and a sister, Dorothy Weible of La Center, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth Bigelow; two brothers, Steven and Lloyd “Buck” Reynolds; and a sister, Betty Hale.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the Keokuk National Cemetery with military rites.  Memorials may be directed to the Hancock County Honor Guard.  Printy Funeral Home of Warsaw is in charge of arrangements.
