Fannie "Frankie" Lane Obituary

Fannie Dora Belle Lane, known to many as "Frankie," peacefully passed away this Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at the age of 93 while at her home surrounded by loved ones ushering her forth to the chorus of "How Great Thou Art." She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Marvin E. Lane Jr., and her daughter, Arretta Jennings. She was welcomed into the world on January 2nd, 1928 by her parents Earnest and Fannie Williams and her sister Elizabeth in Wichita Falls, Texas, followed by her little brother, Earnest Williams Jr.; all of whom preceded her in death. From a young age on Frankie enjoyed many things such as tap dancing, crafting, bowling, and roller skating, which happens to be how she met her husband Marvin while he was stationed at Shepherd Air Force Base. They married shortly after on August 4th, 1950 and had seven beautiful children: Karen, Marvin III (Sonny), Arretta, Phyllis, Janet, Linda, and Wendy resulting in 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grand children! Throughout her life, Frankie was an active member of her church and worked in various professions, eventually retiring as Financial Secretary at First Baptist Church in downtown Oklahoma City. However, if someone was to ask what her three greatest passions in life were, outside of her family and friends, the answer would definitely be walking with the Lord, telling others about Him, and playing Skip-bo. Although, as anyone who played this game with her would know, dominating at Skip-bo would be more a far more accurate description, haha. She was an intimidating card shark that everybody sought to rival during social visits. In all seriousness though, she accepted Christ as a teenager and faithfully served him the remainder of her days. She made God the center of her life and home sewing beautiful seeds of unconditional love, forgiveness, faith, prayer, joy, and laughter into the lives of all who knew her and has blessed them with the gift of this priceless legacy and inspiring example to follow. The saying, "a life well lived," couldn't ring more true or be more fitting than it is for Frankie. A public viewing will be held from noon- 8pm on Tuesday November 23rd, 2021 at Barnes and Friederich Funeral Home on 1820 S. Douglas Blvd. Midwest City, OK. A private service will be held with internment following at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Her family would like to extend thanks for all the prayers and loving support provided to them during this difficult time and ask that all memorial donations be given to Sooner Baptist.
