Obituary
Helen Stevens, 83 year old Woodward resident, died Saturday, November 20, 2021 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with her son-in-law, Reverend Tom Kahn officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery.
Helen Marie (Brooks) Stevens was born October 2, 1938 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Harry and Mae (Moore) Brooks. She grew up in Marshalltown and later Stevens Pointe, Wisconsin. Helen started school in Wisconsin and finished in Woodward. She was united in marriage to Ronald G. Stevens on August 11, 1955 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They were blessed with six children, Rhonda, Danny, Jeanette, Jerry, Russell, and Patricia. Helen worked at various places including, the Mooreland Hospital, a dispatcher at the Woodward County Jail, JC Penneys, Arnett Nutrition, the Plains Indians and Pioneers Museum in Woodward, and Top Cat Formal Wear and Accessories. Helen enjoyed spending time at Top Cat and ordering jewelry and accessories. She also enjoyed fishing, crocheting, sewing, quilting, but her favorite times were spent with her family. Helen loved spending time with her family and having Sunday dinners and playing with her great-grandbabies. She loved family get togethers and she was her happiest when they were all together.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Fullbright and husband John of Moore, Danny Stevens of Woodward, Jeanette Chancey and husband Jeff of Blanchard, Russell Stevens and wife Julie of Bixby, and Patricia Kahn and husband Tom of Mooreland; one sister, Elizabeth Hemphill and husband Howard of Baldwin, Kansas; ten grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald, and son Jerry Stevens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Plains Indians and Pioneers Museum with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
