Lewis Glover Obituary

Lewis W. Glover, 84 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, November 19, 2021 at his home in Woodward. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the Elmwood Cemetery with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Lewis Wayne Glover was born on April 23, 1937 in Watonga, Oklahoma to Thelma (Thomas) Glover. Lewis grew up in Watonga before moving to Woodward and he graduated from Woodward High School. In 1955, Lewis was inducted into the United States Army and he served his country in the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1964.

He was united in marriage to Virginia (Johns) on June 2, 1957 in Sharon, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Fort Worth, Texas before moving back to Woodward. Lewis worked for various different companies, but was mostly a Carpenter.

He enjoyed square dancing, wood working, but spending time with his family was his favorite thing to do.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Glover; one son, L.R. Glover and wife Barbara; one daughter, Tammy Aitson and husband Mike; three grandchildren, Shyla O'Dell, Danielle O'Dell, and Anthony Glover; one brother, Lloyd Glover; one sister Carol Sue Callahan; other relatives and friends.

Lewis was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Glover.
