Vardaman---George Wayne (Brad) Bradford, 78, passed away at his home in Vardaman on Friday, November 19, 2021. Born February 22, 1943, in Calhoun County, he was the son of the late Billy Paris Bradford and the late Nell Barton Bradford. He was a 1961 graduate of Calhoun City High School, and was a member of Calhoun City First Baptist Church. He was retired after serving many years as an Officer with the Mississippi Department of Transportation. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Joyce Gilder Bradford, and they have spent over 60 wonderful years together. After graduating High School, he and Joyce both attended East Mississippi Community College, and then Brad went on to Delta State University. After college they moved back to Vardaman and they have been there ever since, raising their two boys, Keith and Chris. He loved crappie fishing, as well as anything and everything to do with Ole Miss. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with his boys and grandkids. Brad was definitely one-of-a-kind, and his memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Pryor Funeral Home has the honor of serving the Bradford family. A Graveside Service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 1:00pm at Midway Cemetery in Vardaman with Bro. Joey Hamilton officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Clark Bradford, Rivers Bradford, Will Bradford, and Josh Bradford; and nephews, Ben Collins, Jordan Collins, and Phillip Poe. He leaves behind his wife of over 60 years, Joyce Gilder Bradford; sons, Keith Bradford and his wife Cam of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Chris Bradford of Vardaman; grandchildren, Clark Bradford, Rivers Bradford, Mary Sloan Bradford, Will Bradford, and Josh Bradford; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Nell Barton Bradford, and brother, Billy Frank Bradford. Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at pryorfuneralhome.com.
