Laura Rose (Barr) Williams, 82, of Wileyville, WV got to see Jesus face-to-face on Thursday, November 18, 2021 while at Sistersville Hospital.


Laura was born January 25, 1939 in Hundred, WV, daughter of the late Garrison and M. Pauline (Teagarden) Barr.


Retired office manager for the former Weldon’s Office Supplies, prior to that she was the salad bar lady for Golden Corral and prior to that Miss Blue’s Restaurant. She loved to read romance stories, crochet, canning and helping people. Volunteered as an EMT with New Martinsville Ambulance Service and Wileyville Ladies Auxiliary. Laura was a member of the Proctor Church of Christ.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harley Barr and two infants, William Bruce and Charles Willard Barr and three sisters, Hilda Morris, Mildred Cole and her twin, Lavena Daye Keenan Stoneking.


She and the love of her life celebrated their sixty-third anniversary on Sunday, November 14, 2021, Leslie Norman Williams; two sons, Lance (Lisa) Williams of Lexington, KY and Weldon Williams, Wileyville, WV; sister, Lucille Jolliff of Glenville, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.


Friends received 3-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
