Raymond Francis Mulleavey

Raymond Francis Mulleavey, 78, of Lincoln, NH, passed away November 18, 2021, peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family after a very short battle with cancer. Born in Littleton, NH on May 19, 1943, he was the son of Juliette (Lambert) Mulleavey and the late Raymond William Mulleavey. Raymond grew up in Woodstock and was a resident of the Lincoln-Woodstock area all his life. He enlisted in the US Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic in December of 1961 and served until April of 1966. He was on active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis and served on both the USS Enterprise CVN-65 and USS America CVA-66. He loved sharing old Navy stories of his world travels and cherished his lifelong friendships with a core group of buddies he stayed in touch with throughout his life. Raymond’s family and friends ask that you join them in honoring him for his service. Raymond valued hard work, and always took great care and pride in every job he did, something he instilled in his children and grandchildren. He worked for many years in the family restaurant business, both the former Timbers and Longhorn Restaurant. He was the custodian at the Lin-Wood Public School for ten years and worked for ten years for the State of NH DOT as a Highway Maintainer. Raymond loved the outdoors and spending time with his friends and family. His favorite game was golf, he participated in local leagues for many years and even made a hole in one. He also enjoyed hunting (shot a 9 point, 200lb buck), fishing, and spending time at his family’s camps, CampKumUpTWit and CampFindIt. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and loved the sport. Every Saturday night, you could find “Racing Ray”, as his family and friends lovingly nicknamed him, at the local racetrack. Raymond will be remembered for his smile, laugh and story-telling, but most importantly as a loving and supportive father and husband, caring son, devoted brother, loyal friend and loving grandfather. Raymond was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Lincoln and a member of 51 years and past Commander of American Legion Post #83, in Lincoln. Raymond was predeceased by his wife, Cynthia L. (Walter) Mulleavey, who died February of 2016, his son Scott A. Mulleavey, who died in July of 2006, and his brother Quinten E. Mulleavey, who is still listed as Missing in Action from the Vietnam War. Raymond is survived by his two children, son Christopher R. Mulleavey and wife Kathleen of Concord, and daughter Marcella M. Shamberger and husband Stephen of Woodstock, nine grandchildren, Trinity, Grace, Christopher, Caleb, Tristan, Maggie, Samuel, Raylynne and Olivia. Three brothers, Donald Mulleavey of Parker, CO., John Mulleavey and Denis Mulleavey, both of Lincoln, NH, sisters, Marlene Murphy of Hillsborough, NH, and Diane Tardif of Woodstock, NH, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held at the American Legion Post #83, Main St. Lincoln on Tuesday, Nov. 23rd, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Church St., Lincoln, on Wednesday, Nov. 24th, at 11am. The Rev. John Mahoney, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln.
