Richard Lee Bach Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard L. Bach, born June 9, 1959 in Doylestown, PA. Richard passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Richard was loved by so many people including his father Richard A. Bach of Riegelsville, PA; his mother Miriam J. (Frick) Bach of Doylestown, PA; his beloved wife and life partner of 38 years, Modesta "Tina" E. (Barroso) Bach; two daughters, Justine A. Bach of New York City and Marena E. Bach and husband Jim Quinn of Wells, Maine; two brothers, Glenn D. Bach and wife Brenda of Windham, NH, and Douglas C. Bach and wife Kristy of Scottsdale, AZ; a sister Brenda J. Quinn and husband Steve of Doylestown, PA; and six nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepmother Margaret Bach.

Richard was an immensely caring, gentle soul who led a life of service. He graduated from Mansfield High School in Mansfield, PA and went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard for 20 years, retiring as Chief Petty Officer in 1997. He earned numerous medals and accommodations during his time in the USCG, some of which include the CG Achievement Medal & Gold Star, Commandant’s Letter of Commendation Ribbon & Gold Star, CG Meritorious Unit Commendation & Four Gold Stars, and the CG Bicentennial Unit Commendation Ribbon.

After retirement from the USCG, Richard went on to run two fitness facilities alongside Tina. Most recently, “Mr. Rick” was a school bus driver for Shapleigh Schools in Kittery, ME, where he enjoyed finding fun and creative ways to make his kids smile. Richard was always looking for ways to help others—he was a proud volunteer for the Travis Mills Foundation and the American Legion Post 56, he was a recent bone marrow donor, and a lifelong blood donor.

Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, exploring the U.S. on his Triumph motorcycle, bicycling, listening to rock and roll, and making his loved ones laugh with his ever-endearing comedic relief. He will be missed beyond words.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Travis Mills Foundation: 1002 Watson Pond Rd., Rome, ME 04963. Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, York, Maine is directing arrangements. Visit www.lucaseatonfuneralhome.com
