Mildred Lorraine Dragonir

Mildred Lorraine "Millie" Dragonir, 85 of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Trinity West in Steubenville, OH. She was born on January 2, 1936, in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late James Frederick "Ted" and Margaret (Green) Crinkey. She is also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Vera Hanson. Millie graduated from Follansbee High School Class of 1953 and attended the Monongalia General Hospital Nursing School in Morgantown, WV. When she received her nursing degree, she went to work for Weirton General where she worked on the operating room and surgical floors. Later she worked as an office nurse for Dr. Wise and lastly as Dr. Michael Giannamores nurse for over 20 years. Mildred was a member of the Follansbee United Methodist Church. Millie had many hobbies including making several uniforms and capes for the Brooke High School Majorettes, and tending to her garden. She also helped lay the stones for the fireplace in the home she and George built. Millie was the most loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend anyone could ask for. She proudly served her country with the Civil Air Patrol. She was a retired Lt. Colonel of the Wheeling Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol. Millie was an Administration and Personnel Officer for 30 years. She received the WV Wing Civil Air Patrol Personnel Officer of the year in 1999, Middle East Region Civil Air Patrol Personnel Officer of the year 99', She also received the Outstanding Service to Civil Air Patrol, WV Wing in 2009. Millie is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years George Nick Dragonir at home; two children, Dr. Lorraine Dragonir and husband Gerald Bioux of Ellicott City, MD; George B. Dragonir and wife Georgia Dragonir of Sugarland, TX; three grandchildren, Alexandra, Drake, and Peyton Dragonir; one brother-in-law, James L. Dragonir and wife Anita Dragonir of FL; one sister-in-law, Patricia Doty of Follansbee, WV; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation for Millie will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037 with Pastor George Romage officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Haven of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to, The American Stroke Association/American Heart Association at PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284 or Valley Hospice at 4000 Johnson Rd. Steubenville, OH 43952.
