Paul Woodrow Garrett Obituary

Paul W. Garrett, Jr., 74, of Good Hope, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 at United Hospital Center. He was born in Clarksburg on November 30, 1946 a son of the late, Paul W. “Woody” and Sylvia Furguson Garrett.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Emma Carder Garrett, whom he married on January 6, 1965. He is also survived by his daughters, Crystal Byrd and her husband Bryan and their son, Brandon; and Shelby Renzelli and her husband Doug, all of Good Hope; his nieces, Loretta Kay Reader of SC; Charlotte Ward of Good Hope; Joyce Ann Phillips of NC; and his nephew, James Garrett of Good Hope; as well as his sister-in-law, Garnet Garrett of Clarksburg.
He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Paul served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. During his military service, he got to see many places around the globe including Italy and Spain. For almost 50 years, Paul was a long-haul trucker. He loved driving and working on his pristine ’79 Peterbilt. His career took him all over this great country. Many of his loads came out of the Carbon Plant in Anmoore. Paul enjoyed being outdoors and was always working on something. He was also a usual at the Hawks Nest Restaurant and many other businesses around Good Hope.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public services. Cremation arrangements have been handled by Perine Funeral Home in Shinnston.
