Marie Freeman of Branford died on Thursday November 18, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of Eugene Freeman of Branford. She was the mother of Leah Acunzo (husband Joseph) of Branford. She was the grandmother of Jason Acunzo (Xandra) and Christina Todd (Alexander). She is also survived by her great grandchildren Aria, Mason, and Avery. She was predeceased by her brothers Peter, John Jr., and Louis Gogliettino. Marie was born in New Haven on October 4, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Mary Abate Gogliettino. For many years she worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Hospital of St. Raphael. She also worked in retail for many years at Grant’s, Perfect Party, and the Sachem Card Shop. Marie loved the New York Yankees and holidays, especially Christmas, and she loved cooking large, traditional Italian Christmas Eve dinners. Friends may call Monday from 4-7 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford.
