Eva Kowalczyk, 96, of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Bronislaw Kowalczyk passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 11, 1925 in Tolland, the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Masichuk. She attended the Hartt School of Music in Hartford. She married Bronislaw December 1, 1951 and moved to Hermosa Beach, Calfornia before moving back to Connecticut. She was known as the lady that walks in Rockville with the red hat. She is survived by her four daughters, Lydia Kowalczyk of Vernon, Nancy Corrigan and her husband Tom of Coventry, Gloria Kowalczyk and Sheila Kowalczyk both of Vernon; and her step grandchildren, Nancy and Jimmy Corrigan. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Popick, Stella Popick, Harry Masichuk, John Bik and Rusty Bik. Eva’s family would like to thank her caregiver, Donna Los for 9 years of loving care. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 11 AM to 12 noon with a funeral home service following at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, CT.
