Nelson Toler

Howard “Nelson” Toler Jr., 68, of Ripley passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born July 7, 1953 at Charleston a son of the late Howard Sr. and Ellen Dolores Brogan Toler. Nelson always enjoyed staying active and was a hard worker. He owned and operated his own business, Complete Contracting Services, for 37 years and was proud to work alongside his son, Vince. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing softball, hunting, camping and racing. Nelson is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Casto Toler; children Ricky Toler (Denise), Dr. Lindsay Toler and Vince Toler (Emily); brother David Ray Toler (Cindy); sister Helen Lacy and granddaughters Alexsandra Toler, Adyson Toler and Marci Toler. In addition to his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by a brother Gary Toler and infant siblings William Ira Toler and Kathy Toler. He is also survived by a large extended family and many friends. A funeral service to celebrate Nelson’s life will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, November 23rd at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Steven Hamrick officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Nelson’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
