Son Van Tran, 62, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.

Son was born in Binh Ty, Vietnam, immigrated to America in 1980, and settled in Biloxi, MS. For 20 years, he was the proud captain of Mary Ann Tran. His love for the sea allowed him to provide for his family while fulfilling his passion for exploration.

As a devoted family man, Son was happiest spending time with the ones he loved. Son is survived by his wife, Nga;  and children, Tuyet, Vivian, Nicholas, Lam, Hung and Tien;  his brothers Thanh and Hai;  and sisters Duc, Thu, Ha, Hong, Celina, and Loan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 4p.m. – 5:p.m., and again on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home at 13872 Lemoyne Blvd in Jackson County.

A procession from Riemann Family Funeral Home will leave the chapel at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021, and proceed to the 10:00 a.m. graveside service at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, MS

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation in memory of Son to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org  to raise awareness for gastric cancer. 

The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd in West Jackson County is proudly serving the Tran Family.

Pallbearers will be; Jeff Nguyen, Josh Porier, Tranh Tran, Tri Tran, Tin Tran, Phuong Ta, Ngoc Le and Harry Sahin.
