Leo D. "Lee" Wallen Obituary

Leo D. “Lee” Wallen, a longtime resident of Jackson County, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the age of 82 in Ocean Springs.

Lee was a retired TSgt in the United States Air Force, fought in the Vietnam War, and later became a licensed electrician and eventually owned his own electrical company.

He was a member of the VFW Post 6731 in D’Iberville, and a member of the American Legion Post 1992 of Gautier/Vancleave.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Carl G. Wallen, and Lena Rose Wallen; and his thirteen siblings.

He is survived by his special angel, Ms. Marilyn Coleman; his children, Shirley L. Prieto (Dan), Carl G. Wallen, II. (Jennifer Pettigrew), and Thomas W. Wallen; his grandchildren, Chris Bosarge, Dustin Bosarge, Jennifer Wilkinson, and Megan F. Besmer; and his four great-grandchildren, Cameron Cooper, Daniel Bosarge, Tristen Wilkinson and Scarlett Wilkinson; and a host of relatives and dear friends.  He will be deeply missed by all.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. Memorial Service in the Chapel of Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. in West Jackson County. Inurnment with full military honors will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. His son-in-law Dan Prieto, will honor his father-in-law, by playing Taps at the service.
