Janie M. Spicer, 92, of Russell, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Warren General Hospital.  Born March 7, 1929, in Conway, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Olie Elliott Edwards.  She married Emerson J. Spicer January 6, 1949,  who preceded her in death August 19, 2014.  Janie enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, entering exhibits in the Warren County Fair, and her kitties.  Surviving are 4 children: Virgil (Patricia) Spicer of Russell, Ralph (Stacey) Spicer of Warren, Gail (Cindy) Spicer of Russell, and Kim (Kimberly) Spicer of Russell; 1 brother, Earl Edwards of Virginia; 1 sister Edna Woodard of North Carolina; 9 grandchildren, Hilary, Adrienne, Gregory, Shania, Haley, Heather, Theodore, Robyn, and Malcolm; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Howard and Bob Edwards, and a sister, Doris Lewter.  Friends will be received for a time of visitation at the McKinney Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Sugar Grove on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 1-3 pm where a funeral service will follow at 3 pm.  Burial will follow and will be private in the Foster Cemetery in Lander.  Those wishing to place a memorial may do so to the Lander Volunteer Fire Department.
