<p>John Gordon Brooks, age 59, of Torrington, CT, passed away peacefully in his home on November 13, 2021 after a long illness.</p> <p>John was born May 2, 1962 in Bristol, CT to Barbara Bachman and Gordon Brooks who preceded him in death. John had a good sense of humor, would help anyone, was an avid reader, and life time fan of Spiderman. He enjoyed conversations and spending time with his nephew and friend Martin Joseph Savoy, cousin and friend Michael Mitchell and roommate Megan Sutterland.</p> <p>He is survived by his partner Anna K. Korsgren of Torrington, CT, son Robert Daniel Brooks (Israel Boone) of Torrington, CT, sister Cindy Jo Morris (Billy Morris, Jr.) of Aiken, SC, sister Tammie Lynn Brooks (Michael Rogowski) of Taylor, SC, former spouse Helen L. Brooks (Keith Dougal) of Columbia, SC and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, John is preceded by his brother Ca-mond James Brooks of Savanah, GA.</p> <p>He expressed, on multiple occasions, that he did not want any type of service when he passed, “If you can’t see me while I’m alive, don’t see me when I’m gone.” Out of respect for his wishes there will be no service or calling hours.
