Paul Anthony Broome, 64, of Escatawpa, MS, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Paul was born on September 12, 1957 to the late Arthur Leslie and Helen Vernette (Bounds) Broome of Sumrall, MS. Paul graduated from Moss Point High School in 1977. He worked in construction, was a sound engineer and a business owner. Paul was defined by his love of music and performing. His greatest joy was in helping bring out the talent in others and working with local bands and artists. He especially loved working with the staff and students of Resurrection Catholic School providing sound and lighting for everything from Christmas programs to formal events and block parties. Paul was someone you could always count on and he helped friends and strangers in equal measure. He had a big personality and a bigger heart. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Art and Nancy Broome and Zebedee “Dee” and Myrtie Bounds; his father-in-law, Billy Bertram, and several beloved aunts and uncles. He will be lovingly remember by his wife of 20 years, Terri (Bertram); sons, Shaun, Eric and Logan Broome; daughter, Kelsey (Wes) Massey and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first grandchild; his mother-in-law, Geri Bertram; a brother, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home on Hwy 63 in Moss Point, MS. The family requests donations be made to Singing River Health System Foundation, Hospice of Life Fund.
